Bruce I. Berkoff has joined Murgence as a Sr. Strategic Consultant. Bruce became the founding Chairman of the LCD TV Association (LCDTVAssociation.org) based in Beaverton Oregon, USA in late 2006. He created this global non-profit trade association to help “inform, promote, improve and connect” the entire supply chain involved with the large and growing multibillion dollar LCD TV industry, and to direct and sponsor research and white papers as needed, as well as to create new features and functions for the industry to support to better their products and services such as: “GreenTV”, “AFD (Auto Format Detection)”, etc. Prior to this, Mr. Berkoff led Enuclia Semiconductor from late 2005; a top-tier VC funded fabless semiconductor start-up in the HDTV video processor space, a large and growing CE market opportunity as flat panels become the de facto standard in the television market. Mr. Berkoff was CEO and later Chairman of the BOD for Enuclia, joining them from LG Philips LCD, one of the world’s leading TFT-LCD manufactures. During his six years with LG Philips LCD in Seoul, Korea, Mr. Berkoff was Executive s Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), leading product planning, international PR and promotion and strategic marketing and analysis. Before that, Mr. Berkoff served as general manager of Philips Flat Display Systems software and electronics business until in Silicon Valley. He has also held executive management positions at several technology companies, including UMAX Computer Corporation, Radius, and SuperMac Technologies.
Bruce is well-known for his visionary keynote addresses, panel chairmanships and other roles at display and electronics industry events, including the Symposium on Information Displays (SID) Business & Investor Conferences, USDC (US Display Consortium) Conferences, Display Forum Europe, HDTV Forum, Asia SID (ASID), EuroDisplays (ESID), the U.S. Flat Panel Display (US FPD) Conference, the Flat Information Display (FID) Conference and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Bruce holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in physics and biophysics from Princeton and the University of California, Berkeley, respectively. He also has display-related patents both granted and pending in the U.S. and China.
